Me, Marionette - home pageWe’ve just put together a micro-site for Graham Carter to promote his forthcoming show, “Me, Marionette” at ink_d gallery in Brighton this May.

Graham has been working with the very talented Ticktockrobot to produce 3 short animations to accompany the show, and this little site is a place to show them off. The first one is already available to view, with the next 2 being rolled out over the coming weeks.

As always, Graham’s work is looking completely gorgeous and we’re very pleased to be involved, although he does owe me a pint.

Wedding in a Teacup home page

We have recently launched the website for Brighton’s brand new Wedding in a Teacup and it is already getting a lot of love from the wedding world.

The site is comprised of a full shopping cart with a Paypal gateway, a themed WordPress blog, a rolling slideshow on the homepage and various feedback forms dotted around the place allowing you to request stock notifications or share products with friends.

The product page has a nice image browser powered by AD gallery combined with a pop-up zoom using Fancybox.

We’ve also made use of one or two CSS3 techniques, such as box-shadow, and we’ve used a couple of web fonts. Two areas that are really helping to open up the possibilities in web design.

One more thing worth mentioning is the rotated images on the About and FAQ pages. These are uploaded to the CMS as regular images, then displayed at an angle using the jQuery rotate plugin. A very useful tool that I’m sure we will be making more use of in the future.

Overall, this was a fun site to build, and we’re very pleased with the results.

Family Footprints

Family Footprints home pageFamily Footprints is a scheme set up by Brighton solicitors Mayo Wynne Baxter to encourage parents to make a will and protect their children’s future. For every will they create through Family Footprints they will donate £25 to children’s charity, Chestnut Tree house with the aim to raise £10,000 for them.

The site features a footprints-shaped “totaliser” displaying the current amount raised, with a little bit of bounce put in using jQuery. You won’t see this in it’s full glory until they’ve raised a bit of cash though…

Lovely and Company

Lovely & Company home pageThis one has been a long time in the making, but it’s finally live.

The client is Brighton based vintage furniture dealers, Lovely and Company, who have a fantastic range of, well… lovely things.

The products are beautiful enough to sell themselves so the design was kept quite minimal to show off the photography and keep things clean and clear.

The biggest challenge during the build was accommodating the insanely complex shipping calculations. In fact, the shipping section of our CMS had to be completely rewritten to accommodate it! We got there in the end though.

Shadi Danin home pageWe’ve just launched a new site for the Shadi Danin Medi Spa in Hove.

The site is a straightforward brochure site with an integrated WordPress blog, themed to match the site, and a gallery section with an inverted colour palette as a nice interesting touch.

The focus of the site is the style of the premises as much as the products and services they offer, so the design is quite minimal with good use of photography.

William Baker splash page

William Baker is a Photographer, a Director of live music shows, a Stylist and has also become one of the most sought after Creative Directors in the world of pop music. He has photographed, styled and directed some of the most influential names in pop including Kylie Minogue, Jamiroquai, Britney Spears, Lily Allen, Leona Lewis, Garbage, Bjork, Fiona Apple, Tricky, Geri Halliwell, Westlife and Victoria Beckham.

We built his new showcase site in collaboration with Adjective Noun.

The minimal design allows the photography maximum impact, displaying the images as large as possible and scaling with the browser window. This was actually more difficult to achieve than you would think!

The black drop down menus and white details boxes are semi-transparent using a bit of CSS3.
