Me, Marionette - home pageWe’ve just put together a micro-site for Graham Carter to promote his forthcoming show, “Me, Marionette” at ink_d gallery in Brighton this May.

Graham has been working with the very talented Ticktockrobot to produce 3 short animations to accompany the show, and this little site is a place to show them off. The first one is already available to view, with the next 2 being rolled out over the coming weeks.

As always, Graham’s work is looking completely gorgeous and we’re very pleased to be involved, although he does owe me a pint.

Wedding in a Teacup home page

We have recently launched the website for Brighton’s brand new Wedding in a Teacup and it is already getting a lot of love from the wedding world.

The site is comprised of a full shopping cart with a Paypal gateway, a themed WordPress blog, a rolling slideshow on the homepage and various feedback forms dotted around the place allowing you to request stock notifications or share products with friends.

The product page has a nice image browser powered by AD gallery combined with a pop-up zoom using Fancybox.

We’ve also made use of one or two CSS3 techniques, such as box-shadow, and we’ve used a couple of web fonts. Two areas that are really helping to open up the possibilities in web design.

One more thing worth mentioning is the rotated images on the About and FAQ pages. These are uploaded to the CMS as regular images, then displayed at an angle using the jQuery rotate plugin. A very useful tool that I’m sure we will be making more use of in the future.

Overall, this was a fun site to build, and we’re very pleased with the results.

Family Footprints

Family Footprints home pageFamily Footprints is a scheme set up by Brighton solicitors Mayo Wynne Baxter to encourage parents to make a will and protect their children’s future. For every will they create through Family Footprints they will donate £25 to children’s charity, Chestnut Tree house with the aim to raise £10,000 for them.

The site features a footprints-shaped “totaliser” displaying the current amount raised, with a little bit of bounce put in using jQuery. You won’t see this in it’s full glory until they’ve raised a bit of cash though…

sallyelford-home

Brighton based artist & illustrator Sally Elford’s new site is now live at sallyelford.co.uk.

We took out the background colour and added a bit more breathing space to the layout, and while we kept the main grid structure of the old version it’s less ‘boxed-in’ than before. It’s always best to keep things simple on a portfolio site like this because it’s all about focusing on the artwork. The monotone images in the the header are a nice touch though, and they nicely separate the 4 main areas of the site.

A feature worth mentioning is the javascript powered image zoom in the prints section. Activated by moving the mouse over the image, this eliminates the need to show several detail shots of the same image.

The main focus of the new site is the shop. The payment gateway here is Paypal, but the shopping cart and checkout process remains on the site, taking the user to paypal to make the payment, then straight back to a success page.

Tony Hung site 1

Just completed a new portfolio site for Tony Hung. The whole site runs off a single page with the content pulled by PHP from the MySQL backend. The work is arranged in a specific order, with a random starting position. A few bits and pieces of jQuery help to keep everything slick.

Dreams homepage

We’ve had the pleasure of working with ticktockrobot again, this time on a micro-site for the new Dreams TV ad campaign.

The site has been built using a combination of jQuery and Flash animation, falling back to static images if the Flash plugin is not installed.

Page loading times are not at all bad considering the amount of images involved here and the content is loaded dynamically using ajax to avoid the page reload restarting the animations.

The ad is displayed using the wonderful new HTML 5 <video> tag, falling back to Flash in older browsers. Thanks to Camen design‘s “Video for everybody” method for this.

All in all, a fun little site with some great imagery to work with. Ticktockrobot are the design production company for the campaign and will be creating more ads in the new year with a bigger and better web presence to follow.

Visit this page for more info, and view the microsite here.
